Happy 2007
If you follow this column you know that I wrote a "Happy New Yew" article in September. This is the second New Year for many of us. Well the calendar says the New Year really is just a few short days away. Great time to review the high and low-lights of your year.
For me, highlights include
~ Managing my chronic back pain!
~ Beginning to run again
~ Running the Turkey Day race (5 miles) in my home town
~ Meeting some fantastic people during and at times of a grueling
travel schedule
~ Creating some amazing moments in training rooms across America
- perhaps yours
~ Publishing the long awaited book "Thriving In Chaos"
However to be fair I must open up to my not-so-shining moments
of the previous year.
~ I Gained weight - I stopped caring about the impact of food
on my body
~ I left many projects to be finished at the last minute - inconveniencing
others
~ I did not do any summer projects at the house
~ I did not use my sunscreen religiously as I promised a dear
friend I would
Now, as I look at my win/loss record for 2007, I think to myself "there really were some wins and there really were some losses." However, it really looks like a pretty balanced year to me. I guess in my quest to be "spectacular," what I have realized the most is to be fair when assessing my year. Don't ONLY be critical of what you left on the table in 2007. Pay attention to your highlights in order to see a balance of your efforts for the year. And, allow it to bring satisfaction to your soul.
Happy 2007 and a "SPECTACULAR" ~ however you define it 2008!
