Happy New Year!
Well, it's here again. One of those "re-examine your
life moments." A
time where we traditionally make resolutions that we have every
intention of keeping--until about January 15 or so. And then,
well, the
old habits take back their rightful place.
I am not going to ask you to make a resolution about your
chaos. I am
not going to ask you to write affirmations and stick them on
every
surface of your home. I am not even going to ask you to make
a list of
all of the things you need to change.
Ask yourself this question: "Imagine what your life
would look like if
you could reduce even a little bit of your chaos?" I'd really like
you
to paint yourself a picture of what your life could be like:
more
relaxing, less yelling, more time to read a book or more assistance
with
household chores. Use your imagination to see yourself enjoying
every
new day, gathering with old friends or actually looking forward
to going
to work every day.
Can you see it? Really see a new life with a bit less craziness?
I hope
so...because for all of the resolutions we make and break, what
I know
to be true is "a picture is worth a thousand words." Create
the mental
picture of being in control of your life, reducing your chaos
and being
happy! Once you really see what can be, your actions will start
bringing
a new congruence to your life.
What a great way to start the New Year!
