Ôªø Tracy Knofla: Thriving In Chaos

Sense of Humor!

I think our sense of humor is one of the greatest gifts we have been
given. The ability to laugh and experience the joy that comes with a
good laugh is unlike anything else in life.

Don't most of us do just about anything to get a baby to laugh? Don't we
love it when we get our friends to laugh so hard that milk comes out
their noses?

It's important to see the beauty in our daily lives (the topic of a
future tip by the way) but it's also important to look for humor in our
everyday lives.

Most often, it's when our lives are most chaotic that we encounter the
most humor. Have you ever been running late or in a tremendous hurry and
a). the baby throws up on himself or b). the dog knocks over the
goldfish bowl, or c). your honey forgets the keys, then the tickets and
then their wallet?

You basically have three choices:

1. Ignore the situation (which takes a level of patience seldom seen in humans.)

2. be angry in a level not proportionate to the crisis (oh heck, don't we all overreact?)

or

3. See the humor in the situation, get a good laugh out of it, and then solve the problem.

I say pick number 3 most often. It doesn't change everything, but it
surely can make those first few moments more bearable for everyone. Look
for the humor in more of your everyday lives (even if only YOU get a
giggle out of it!)

Did you hear the one about...?
